Or at least, re-direct user to AliPay web page where the user has the option to bring up AliPay APP or continue payment on the page until done.
Yeah I think it should work that way
I am not sure if it calls the native AliPay wallet, but you can try, or leverage the manually redirect flow (https://stripe.com/docs/payments/alipay/accept-a-payment?platform=web#handle-redirect) and (maybe) passing alipay wallet deeplink.
@rapid oyster Thanks so much for your response! I've gone thru the doc for AliPay. For iOS/Android, it is pretty clear that it will either bring up AliPay (if installed) or re-direct to AlipAy web page (if AliPay not installed) for user to choose bring up Alipay or continue on the web page to complete payment.
However, for a mobile web site (e.g. H5 mobile online store), it is unclear what happens after user clicks on pay., except that using stripe.js to call stripe to start the flow.
Yes trying is probably the only way to know for sure.
@rapid oyster BTW, we are also trying to implement WeChat Pay on mobile web. Current WeChat Pay only supports returning a QR code which cannot be used on mobile web. Enabling BETA is the way to go. Any idea how long it takes to get BEAT requested reviewed and enabled?
Let me look for information
Could you elaborate on "QR code which cannot be used on mobile web"?
Does that mean when the customer is displayed a QR code on their mobile browser, they can not switch to WeChatPay app to scan that QR code?
Also, what is the Beta we are talking about?
Correct! The QR code, in this case, is displayed on the browser of the mobile phone. The only way to bring up Wechat pay is to scan it using another mobile phone 😉
So, this solution is for PC web site only, where user can simply bring out the phone and scan
The Beta version of WeChat Pay, once enabled, will support bringing up the weChat by clicking on "pay" button.
I've already applied and been under review for quite a while. So checking if anyone has gone down this path could shed some light on it.
Oh do you have an email when you applied to it? How long has it been?
I can quick check if our Support team missed it
It's been two weeks. I've followed up with the support team numerous times and asked the case be escalated but was told it's still under review up until today. 🥺
It's high chance that they are still working on it. Please be patient! If you can provide the email you used, I can try to flag it internally
@rapid oyster That will be great! huabing.liu@tuanyuangroup.com
Can you please organise a sales person to have a zoom meeting with us, as this is a new business for Stripe. We're migrating AliPay and WeChat Pay services from our current provider to Stripe, but got stuck due to the service availability!
can you please help us to expedite and sort this all out?
