Hi! When doing Destination Charges, then the customer object and the payment method object stays on the platform account. So it's expected that they don't appear on the connected account.
but when viewing a payment made i dont see any details about the customer
Can you clarify what you are trying to do?
i go to the account under connect
there i see payments
and i also see customers
payments has rows but customers doesnt
And can you see the customers on your platform account?
hey
i cant see the customers on the platform account
but i do see the payments
Hey
should i just send a screenshot?
Let me just catch-up
Can you share a Payment Intent ID with me where this is evident?
I need an ID so I can see how things are configured. That screenshot is not much use: pi_xxx
That payment there is the transfer following the deduction of the application fee. See this diagram (below).
The actual customer detail lives on the actual Payment Intent: https://dashboard.stripe.com/payments/pi_3KYBNDCU1g4y0fco0C32cYHQ
@vocal veldt thanks
In this screenshot I expected to see a Customer connected
acct_1KXbHv2Hv1jsXtsV
py_1KXcEB2Hv1jsXtsVrNX8pqfz
I see it both from Connect and from "view dashboard as"
Is that the intent with destination charges?
No, that's the transfer the connected account minus the application fee
That's not the original Payment Intent, no. They don't exist on the connected account (which is what you're looking at). They're on the platform
See the URL I shared above
Understood.
To me, it doesn't make much sense, since I want to see the customer who was charged.
And from the Connect account, I can't really see it.
But I understand this is by design
Thanks
You can see the Customer, on the original Payment Intent
I'm not sure why you'd look at the connected account in this instance
Because he is the one doing the charge.
My flow is -
- go to the connected account
- See charges (payments) me ade
- Analyze the kind of payments he made
- as part of it, I expected to see which "customer" he charged
They're not though. The platform is the one making the payment
The behaviour you're describing is direct charges
