Hi there 👋 no, you can't directly move a subscription from one state to another, you would need to simulate the criteria that would trigger that change.
We do have a beta that can make this testing easier by allowing you to create a subscription in an isolated Test Clock, and then you can skip time within that simulation so you don't have to wait for events/changes to occur:

does that need to be toggled on for my account? or should it be avaialble?
It's currently in Beta, so it would need to be turned on for your account. There is a field to ask for access on that page.
