The test flow uses Stripe's test 3DS UI, not real bank UI
The content of that flow is at the discretion of the issuing bank
It's normal for the amount to be 0 or perhaps $1 when you're setting up a card without payment
On the real payment it shows EUR 0 instead of the amount it's supposed to be and fails afterwards, I guess because approval was only for EUR 0.
Hello! Can you share the ID of a Payment Intent where you experienced this issue?
Hi @sinful jasper, I checked the Stripe Dashboard but didn't find the Payment Intent. May it not create one if it fails like that?
It's not possible to start the authentication process without a Payment Intent.
Do you have any Stripe IDs related to one of the impacted payment attempts?
A Charge ID? A request ID for an associated API call?
Can we communicate privately to share more details about this case?
Not here, no, this is a public server. If you need private help you'll need to contact support: https://support.stripe.com/contact
Thank you.
Is it safe to share the related Stripe account ID here or could that one be misused?
A request ID would be best. An account ID would be okay, but unlikely to help much.
Here's how you can find a request ID: https://support.stripe.com/questions/finding-the-id-for-an-api-request
Thanks, I look into the log to hopefully get more insights.
How many times has this happened?
Multiple times, that particular person wasn't able to pay at all and they used different means for payment.
We had reports for multiple EU cards where $0 was authenticated.
Multiple times with a single customer or multiple times across multiple customers?
yeah, multiple times with different customers apparently. On that API log, is there a way to search for amount or metadata?
Not in the request log, no, but you should be able to use the overall Dashboard search at the top to search for those things.
