What do you mean by discount here?
And you can only use Stripe's card readers, using your own reader devices is not currently supported
It says that "Terminal" point of sale in person card processing is 2.7% + 5¢. But I am confused on what counts as that type of payment. It says here (https://stripe.com/docs/terminal/overview) that you are give an SDK that allows you to make your own point of sale device, but (to my brain) it is not clear enough if that means I can use my own card readers or if I have to use stripes certified card readers.
point of sale is the register with a UI for staff, for example. You write the software for that using the Terminal SDK to interface with the card reader.
These rates should apply to payments which are type card_present but you should reach out to our support team for detailed help with pricing questions: https://support.stripe.com/contact
