Hi there, the postal code field can be used to provide additional validations.

e.g. if a US card is entered, the postal code field would only accept a 5-digit numeric value; for UK cards, an alphanumeric value is required.

Thanks, does that mean that if I take it out, the probability of a card getting declined is higher?

you should always be collecting a postal code on card payments, for the reasons specified at https://stripe.com/docs/disputes/prevention/verification
