To be clear, SCA has been in effect since September 2019: https://stripe.com/docs/strong-customer-authentication
Yet the 'deadline' for rollout has been pushed further and further back
Stripe doesn't know if/when a bank will request 3DS/auth for a payment. We just recommend that you build an integration which can handle those requests that will likely happen at some point
So, if a customer signed up for a subscription via Stripe say in 2019.
and as such they have not gone through this 3DS2 authorisation for payment.
You would suggest we get the customer to manually renew the subscription in order to go through the 3DS2 authorisation?
I wouldn't, there is grandfathering involved
