Unfortunately, yes, as far as I know that is the only option. You can try asking our support team, they may know of another option, but I anticipate they'll have the same answer.

After some additional digging and Woo support... this may be possible after all.

Yes, with migrations the saved card data can be transfered over but you need to re-create the subscriptions. This is something you should work with the migrations support team on.
