Thanks for your reply! That's not quite what I was asking. When my platform creates a Direct Charge for a Standard Connected Account, what will happen to the money received if the Standard Connected Account has not completed the onboarding process fully.

Thanks for clarifying. If the Account does not have Charges enabled then you will not be able to complete the direct charge. This is not mirrored in testmode where we don't require Standard Accounts to be enabled in order to test.

Strangely enough, I tried doing this in Live Mode and the checkout session was successfully created with no error message. As this would actually be a good thing for me (to get users quickly, so they only have to complete the long process after money is waiting for them).

So yeah since funds aren't actually moving here you can create the Session but my understanding is that it will error if a customer attempts payment since charges aren't enabled on the Standard Account. I haven't actually tested this in livemode, but really I wouldn't recommend doing this.

Oh right okay! Is there no way of collecting payments in 'pending' mode until the Seller finished onboarding?

No, not without Charges enabled.

You can use manual capture once Charges are enabled if you want to capture later, but this isn't really accomplishing what you want.

Yeah unfortunately there are various regulations that prevent the movement of funds without the necessary information.
