Sure
We have a platform account: acct_1KK79nK99gtNrEtc
We started working with Stripe about 5 years ago for guidance but it appears some requirements have changed and I'm having a hard time getting good guidance.
My company has developed software for our customer, The Municipal Association of South Carolina. They provide services to SC cities and towns.
The application is a statewide site that allows businesses to pay for business license renewal taxes for any city in the state in a single place.
Businesses visit the site, register for an account, and ultimately make payment(s) to a city.
Each city has a standard account connected to the platform.
We initiate direct charges to the connected accounts.
We have been in development, pilot, and beta for 2.5 years.
2022 is the broad rollout. We now have 130+ cities signed up with connected accounts. We have about 300 more after this year.
2 problems.
Several cities are having trouble getting their Stripe account verified. Most of the issue seems to revolve around the website listed in the Stripe account.
Apparently, Stripe is attempting to verify these sites from various places around the world and some of the hosting providers of these sites limit international traffic for security reasons.
We have tried gathering IP addresses to whitelist but keep getting denied over and over without any help.
The 2nd piece of the denial seems to be around the content on the city websites. We keep getting cut-and-paste text about descriptions being needed for the product being sold.
We have tried to explain in various ways that there is no product being sold. This is the payment of a tax that is being assessed by our application based on data provided by the business user.
Is your question/problem technical related? Or is it more account/onboarding/verification related?
not techincal. I need someone who can help me through these questions related to the things you say. I don't know who that needs to be but it seems impossible to get that help via support.
I have used the old IRC channel many times with success. So, I thought I would try here.
At one point, we had a contact at Stripe who could help us but that was early on in the implementation. The 2 people I have talked to are no longer at Stripe.
So, I'm basically looking for some help on who to talk to and how to contact them.
Can you or someone help with that?
I just now noticed the #help channel vs. this one. Should I try there?
Unfortunately Discord isn't the correct channel for account related issues like this
Let me have a look at the account, 2 minutes
ok
I can see acct_1KK79nK99gtNrEtc has some ongoing support tickets, which are the best course to resolving your issues
ok. quite honestly, support is being very helpful. but ok. thanks for looking.
So sorry we can't assist further here, but they are the best people to help in these situations
