also , why are you doing a Direct Charge on an Express account? That's what that API call is. That is not a recommended way to integrate.

pretty sure you can not use the tax product like that, which is the problem. Each account has to turn Tax on in their dashboard, and Express accounts don't have a dashboard.
You should be using Destination charges with Express.

you don't need to because the payment is processed on your platform, not the connected account.
