OK so currently you cannot complete a test payment with google pay / apple pay on terminal. They fail because they provide real card details and don't support our requirement to use test cards only in test mode.
You can see this failing for the use of a live cards here: https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/logs/req_Db2w0Hn6id2PnR

Instead you should test tap payments using the terminal test cards.

Yes, for the payment request button we do a little sleight of hand behind the scenes to replace the real card from apple/google pay with our test card details

If you look at the details of such test payments you'll discover that the card used is the x4242 test card, not your saved wallet card
