  1. Yes, you can send a payout 3 days after the buyer(customer) pays. Funds from a payment may not yet be available in 3 days though. It depends on the payout speed for the country - https://stripe.com/docs/payouts#payout-speed.

If you choose to send a payout earlier, you may be paying "out of pocket" first.

  1. If a buyer (customer) requests for a refund, you can refund them.

You would want to reverse the transfer from the connected account (associated with the payment made by the customer). If your connected account ends up in a negative balance due to the transfer reversal, and the country supports auto debits, and you have enabled auto debit for the connected account - Stripe will attempt to debit the connected account to cover the negative balance. However, the auto debit may not necessarily succeed due to various reasons.

Your account (as the platform) is liable for the connected account's negative balance - https://support.stripe.com/questions/reserves-for-connect-platforms-and-connected-accounts balances.

  1. It depends. You may be liable for the negative balance on the connected account if Stripe is unable to recover the negative balance by debiting the connected account. Since you're using separate charges and transfers, you (as the platform) would be responsible for Stripe fees and Stripe fees are not returned for refunds.

Thanks for your answer. So if the connected account has a possitive balance and can cover the refund, do I (the platform) still need to pay Stripe fees? What about the connected account?
