sorry, I'm saying is there a way to see if the account is valid from the perspective of the custom connect account

I don't think so, but I'm not 100% sure. It also depends on what you mean by "valid".

I've seen a few issues with invalid bank account numbers where a deposit is attempted then an error is thrown saying "only 8 numbers provided in the account vs 9"

As far as I know that kind of thing can't really be detected until a deposit is attempted, but, again, not 100% sure. This is a great question for support. 🙂
