If the pricing is different for the two plans, you'll want to run both for the transition month and b careful about the total calculation (tiers etc may affect this)

ie, you should stop reporting usage on si_1 and start reporting usage on si_2 but you may need to adjust the bill for the customer for that month for complicated pricing.
