so, yes, the metered billing expectation is the invoice for usage in the billing period only

But I'm curious how usage was reported to get into this state. Usage requires a subscription item, which would require a subscription.

I created a subscription today that was backdated to the 1st of January. Then I reported usage to 12 AM this morning (which was a few hours before the actual creation of the susbcription)

Technically since the subscription is backdated to Jan 1, the timestamp of 12 AM Jan 27 works because it's still in-period. Just seems like somewhere in you're back-end you guys are zeroing it out if it's before the creation date?

I thought it had to do with trials, but this one: https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/subscription_items/si_L2fOhbHARTiAuF/usage_records is on a trial and returns the right value

Do you have an actual generated invoice for this period?

ie, if you trigger a billing cycle does the usage get calculated correctly?
