Hi there 👋 the reader wasn't paired with the iOS device via the iOS bluetooth settings first, right?
Yes it wasn’t
Perfect, and you are setting simulated to false when scanning for physical readers?
Right
Thanks for confirming that! I'm checking with the team for other possible causes of the behavior that you're experiencing.
Thanks
Hi Geroge87. Taking over for toby here. What version of the SDK are you using?
Hello! I'm taking over for @crude nova. Can you try resetting the WisePad 3 by pressing the small reset button with a paperclip? It's on the right side of the device below the USB-C port. After it resets can you try connecting again?
Also I'm wondering if this is happening with only a single WisePad 3 or multiple Terminal readers?
Hi. I just got a brand new one. It’s my first integration and first device. I will try to do that in a minute and will get to you back with the results
Tried what you said - doesn't work. ((
If you go into Settings > Bluetooth does the device show up there? Note: don't connect to it from the Settings app, I'm just wondering if it shows up there as an option or not.
I've seen it there before I pressed the reset button. Now I don't see it when the terminal is in pairing mode. To note: it was showing up in the settings before and I was not able to pair the device.
Hm. Is the reader fully charged?
yes just fully charged it
It's not plugged in still, right?
right
Do you have another iOS or Android device we can test with? Wondering if it shows up as an option there?
Also can you restart your iPhone and then check in Settings > Bluetooth again?
I can't see it in iPhone settings as well
Hm. Sounds like it might be a defective reader unfortunately.
You'll need to write in to support, let them know we went through this troubleshooting, and request a replacement: https://support.stripe.com/contact/email
For some reason. When I removed my iOS app and restarted the device - I started to see it in the bluetooth settings.
What else we can do? Do you want me to try to pair it through the iOS app again?
That's interesting. Yeah, try your app again.
Is your app doing anything with Bluetooth beyond the Terminal SDK?
no nothing
I think because the device was paired before with iOS app - it was not showed in BT settings again
let me try
If it was paired I don't think the bluetooth icon on the device would still be blinking.
make sense
