Argh ok no problem
Hey @glad quartz
Stepping in for toby here
Let me look into this for you
Alright
Following up on this; still looking for helpful resources
thank you for your patience
I've reached out to my colleagues on this and they're still looking into it
Ok
@glad quartz you can't set the statement descriptor for a setup intent dynamically, it used your merchant static descriptor from your account settings:
https://stripe.com/docs/statement-descriptors#static
These auths should only be tempoly visible to customers though, as if they are for a non-zero amount they will be refunded shortly after successful auth
Yes I know it is set the static description, indeed I would like to use a dynamic statement descriptor still for setup intent
Unfortunately that's not possible
Ok, and how about a work around? Is there one?
Nope, the setup intent will use the merchant descriptor
Conceptually this makes sense, because the setup is not limited in scope to a specific payment/transaction
It's set up for you to use, theoretically, on any payment in teh future
which would have specific statement descriptors attached
Alright I see, so no chance for get it to work with setup intent, as I did with setup intent because in case of 3D Secure without the setup intent it would trigger 2 SCA modals as when the user does the payment there are two transactions
the 2 transactions are two different subscription
