Hello! That's correct, the Payment Element is not compatible with MOTO payments.

Thanks. Is this just something Stripe hasn't prioritized yet or am I missing something about why the use cases would be incompatible?

The Payment Element is designed to be used by customers/cardholders, meaning the actual people paying. For MOTO payments your own employees are the ones keying in other people's payment information, so you're fully PCI compliant and can build your own custom form to suit your needs.

Right, so we have a connect platform where our some of our users are businesses with stripe accounts, and others of our users are their customers. I'm building a payment form for the former group, who may be keying in their customers' payment info. It would be nice for me to be able to use Elements to make the frontend work easier.

As far as I know there are no plans to support MOTO transactions with the Payment Element. Are you sure the payments you're describing are MOTO?

that's alright, just thought I'd share the use case.

I think so, but could you validate? The use case is our user is staff at a business who's performing a transaction on behalf of one of their customers. They are entering the payment details from an admin interface. The customer is either on the phone or standing there at the reception desk or something.

Yeah, that sounds like MOTO, so the Payment Element would not be appropriate because the person actually paying isn't interacting with it.
