Unfortunately, as far as I know it is not configurable.

Following up on the above, as I suspected it is capped to 7 days and cannot be changed.

A potential solution is to create a new authorization (assuming it succeeds) before releasing the old one. If it does not succeed you can decide between taking the risk or charging anyway. The downside is that the funds are likely held twice for a few days on some banks as releasing an authorization is not always instantaneous
