The fees are deducted from the platform’s Stripe balance around the first of each month for the entire previous month.

well, that's tricky to test, then.

Due to the nature of my marketplace, there's a lot of grouping by transfer_groups. I calculate reserves by guessing at Connect payout charges - this gets complicated by the Connected account's payout schedule (manual or automatic) and how transfers are subsequently grouped into payouts.

I reserve by assuming each transfer has a corresponding payout (a pessimistic conservative guess). I was probably going to "reconcile" just by comparing my conservative reserves vs. actual charges.

All this means is I'll guess how it works before going live, and adjust accordingly. Worst is some small amount remains in platform balance until reconciled, so NBD.
