#sow - Express Account Onboarding

I can send a recorded video in a private message if you want to review what I am talking about
Hey, so if you create a new account link: https://stripe.com/docs/api/account_links/create for the same account where they haven't finished onboarding, and pass in a type of account_onboarding, it should automatically pick up where the user left off in the onboarding process
Are you able to review my video capture ?
we have configured the same way as you described using account links
Hello 👋
I can take over as @past plume will have to step away soon
give me a moment to catch up on the threads
sure thank you
@clever urchin what's your ask? Sorry it's a bit vague and we don't do private messages here (though you can work with the support team directly)?
Are you simply asking if you can send someone to a specific page on the onboarding like a deep link to a step? If so you can't but if you have more specific details let us know
Thanks sure np. Yes, I was talking the the experience of stripe express onboarding is not working as expected
once the user submits all information except the document IDs and once they come back to the account link URL they are taking to the first page again to fill it up from start
yeah that wouldn't happen, not if you properly create an account link for the existing account
ok
Is this what's happening? Is your code creating a brand new account each time via the API before the account link?
not a brand new account, second time when the user visits it starts from the first page of the onboarding step
starting from the first page is not the same as "having to enter all details from scratch each time". It would remember what they entered already. If it doesn't then it's likely that you are creating a new account
Hmm you are right, just confirmed that it creates multiple accounts
thanks
let us check what is going on
@clever urchin any progress? Are you all set?
We can close this thread as we need more time to test this with our developers (who are offline now). Thanks again for your prompt assistance.
Thanks for the follow up. I'm sure we'll talk later.
