#stripe_connect_platform - Authentication Error
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Customer says he did not roll his keys, but the one thing he did do is connect yesterday to Zapier. I know you are making changes on how accounts can connect to other accounts. This is our Stripe Connect standard account customer connected to our app. Would his connecting to Zapier do anything to break our connection or roll his keys?????
I can give you his account number if we can do so in a safe way
Thanks for copying your question here
Do you want his account id?
Hold on, let me read this first
ok
Let's start with the request ID that triggers the error you are seeing
Can i view his account as the owner and find that?
Oh sorry that would be in our account. Long day. Let me check.
When we pass in his account, does the request show up in the platform (ours) or his account.
Well because authentication failed, it likely won't show up in the dashboard. You should be able to find it in the response header. Here's how to find that: https://stripe.com/docs/api/request_ids
Yeah, so I see the error in our logs but we did not log the request id
Would anything end up in Airbrake where I am seeing the error in Heroku
Can you look at his account and see if the keys were rolled?
Or if you guys are not allowing two platforms so connecting to Zapier knocked us out or something?
That is what I want to rule out.
He reconnected and all is working well now but I want to track down what happened
I cannot view his authorized applications it seems and I see no log of the error in his or my account.
If you try another request like the one that failed, does it still fail.
Do we need to always log the request id
No
I reset his connection and he re-connected to us to fix the issue. That did it. All works now but I don't understand how we could have gotten this error since he was connected, all worked well, then we got those errors. I asked him if he rolled his keys and he said.
"I connected Stripe to Zapier yesterday, and that required me to view my API Secret key on Stripe. It allowed me to view it once without rolling keys, so I did not roll them, but maybe the action of viewing the secret key caused the error?"
mystery
Can you provide any requestID for your platform account along the time in UTC when this occurred?
Viewing keys would not cause this error
Lat one happened 2 hours ago. One sec.
