Hi there 👋 this is a really interesting scenario, do you happen to have a subscription ID from where you saw this happen? I'd like to take a closer look at the flow of actions.
This sort of behavior was observed in the dev sandbox, but not exactly as I described above. I'm anticipating that the above behavior could also happen, but I think the behavior my team saw was after two invoices were generated after:
- changing the quantity with the "setup succeeds but payment fails" card
- changing the billing interval with the same card
with the default proration behavior that automatically generates an invoice with automatic attempted payment
Would there be an expected difference in behavior between the topmost scenario and the one I just described? (Btw, I'm trying to get that subscription.id for you)
Hello, toby had to step out for a bit. I am checking in to this
Do you have the ID for the subscription that you saw this for?
Almost there!
Wow I stopped reading right where you said you were getting it already
No worries, I'm just happy to have your help!
Here it is: sub_1KGkglBlqHLa4oXaQ5GkAHGK
You can see there's still one unpaid invoice
Always happy to help, thanks for the ID, checking in to it in a moment.
But the subscription status just went from past_due to active after paying the first unpaid invoice
How we ended up with two unpaid invoices: two back-to-back quantity increases
Apologies for the silence, still looking in to this. Have had a bit of trouble finding the specifics of this behavior and am reaching out to some colleagues
Thanks a million!
