Ok, I had something like this happen, and I'm wondering why.

So I have a brand new subscription, that was marked charge_automatically, with a source on file, and the new subscription has no invoices.

ah, actually, I think I did see the problem on combing through, there's a trial period hidden in the API call

I thought the UX on the subscription would show something indicating its in a trial period?

yeah that's not a trial, it explicitly says active at the top

Mostly you're using billing_cycle_anchor and proration_behavior: 'none'
