Hi there 👋 no, there isn't a way to invoice a connected account. If you're using either Custom or Express connected accounts, then you can debit them (though notice the country and consent restrictions/requirements mentioned near the top of this doc)
https://stripe.com/docs/connect/account-debits

With Connect, your platform can directly debit the Stripe balance of an Express or Custom account.

hi thank you. is there an approach for standard connect accounts?

#

I'm not aware of any way to debit a standard connected account.

The only way I can think of to charge them, would be to create a customer representing the connected account and then handle them as though they were a customer. There is no sort of linking that can happen to tie the customer record to the connected account though.

Okay. would love to get your advice on a scenario we have..we’re a ticketing platform and we have connected accounts as our clients. We make money on ticket fees. There are times patrons check out free tickets, in which case there is no charge and therefore no way to charge application fee as we cannot save $0 orders in stripe. When tickets are free the client still owes us for the ticket fee as they are supposed to pay out of their own pocket

Somehow we need to charge the client for owed ticket fees. In this scenario would you still recommend creating a customer and charging invoice that way?

Yeah, I'm not sure of any other way to accomplish that, but our support team might so it may be worth asking them as well:
