You are correct - only a customer can be charged a subscription. If you want to charge your users (represented by connect accounts) on a monthly basis you would either have to also create a Customer object to represent them on your Platform, or you would have to create account debits (see https://stripe.com/docs/connect/account-debits) manually yourself if they are supported for use case
