Hi there 👋 no, metadata is specific to the object where it's added and it does not pass from object to object.

ohh so for the monthly payments do we have to setup metatags manually?

It depends on how you're trying to use it. If you need it to be directly on the invoice/payment intent objects, then yes you would need to set the metadata there. You can also use the downstream objects to retrieve the subscription and then check the metadata that is on the subscription object.
