Unfortunately we don't really know much about how the community flutter_stripe library works, or what it is expected to support or not. Have you tried asking the developer/community around it?

Not yet, I will. Does my question make sense though? Do you agree that the ConfirmSetupIntent step should accept an existing PaymentMethod ID, rather than submitting card billing details and returning a new Payment Method?

Yes -- as long as that PM has not already been used for a payment then i would say that should work
