no you can't really do anything with the failed invoice
so either you increase the overall price your business charges for your product to cover this cost of doing business, or do a separate payment as you mention!
also you might want to check(with our support team or your own advice) if there any policies for charging this kind of fee to customers you need to be aware of (no idea if there are any for BECS, but for example in the EU there are restrictions like https://support.stripe.com/questions/scope-of-the-surcharge-ban-under-psd2-for-b2c-and-b2b-payments)
