yes Checkout just creates a single payment and not an Invoice specifically(common feature request though)

If you really need an Invoice specifically, for a one-time payment, you could use Invoices and the hosted invoice page(https://stripe.com/docs/invoicing/hosted) yes, but it's not really the same as Checkout

I'd usually kind of suggest just sticking to using Checkout if possible since it makes more sense overall

Do you think invoices might come to Checkout in the future? We currently create them manually in Xero but I was looking for Stripe to handle it all

it's likely something will happen in this space but it will be a few quarters I would imagine

but yes it's a common feature request that one time payments in Checkout should also create Invoices, I feel the pain
