hello, I think US accounts only support USD as the currency as default for external account
It was my understanding that Accounts were allowed to add multiple bank accounts if they were in different currencies. So connected account could settle in CAD GBP and USD if they have those bank accounts with one of them being default
When working with multiple currencies, Stripe automatically sends payouts to an associated bank account or debit card for its currency to avoid exchange fees. When there are multiple accounts available for a given currency, Stripe uses the one set as default_for_currency.
yeah and that applies to other countries, like France supports settlement in USD and EUR etc
but US accounts only support USD
Ok so I need to create a connected account which originates in another country to add multiple bank accounts? So if they are US company and have a company in CAD they need to open a new Merchant account in CAD and then they can add a US account to it?
correct, it would be a separate Connect acct esp if the company is in CA
CA accounts can add USD yes, here
there is a table for this
Is there documentation on that anywhere so I can see what the matrix is? I thought a company could add whatever payout bank they wanted.
great thanks
(warning , it will load slowly, have filed to get that fixed, it will take 40s to load)
