@hot otter it's not required, if they don't pick their bank on your site, then they have to pick it on the iDEAL hosted page

the idea is it's recommended as it removes that extra interstitial step (your site -> redirect -> pick bank -> pay) before they can actually make the payment

not that I'm aware of, that one is just a simple redirect and everything happens on the EPS page
