a coupon with a four month duration applies to the first four months of a customer’s monthly subscription.

If the subscription is yearly, the coupon is applied to the full invoice for the first year. e.g. if you have a $100/year subscription, and you apply a 50% coupon with a four month duration. The amount the customer would pay would be $50 for that first year.

And for a weekly subscription, a four month coupon applies to every invoice in the first four months.
