Can you give a bit more detail? What are the exact steps/actions your taking that get you in this weird state

sure

#

Launch our IOS app...pair the Chipper reader with the app, and then within the app tapping on the check for updates button, which should check for a firmware update for the reader.

This works for some readers and not others, so it doesn't feel like a bug in our iOS app.

Do you have an example serial number for a Chipper device that is failing to update?

I believe it was one of these two readers:

CHB204909006701

Chb204909006715

Thanks! Give me a bit to do some digging

#

For CHB204909006701 at least, I see that the update is failing because the battery is too low - I believe that the battery of the device has to be at least 50% for the update to succeed

#

You should be getting information about this error back when you attempt to install the update

Okay. I'll need to check out the error handing code to verify we're handling that correctly. Thank you for your help!

#

It looks like we do handle and surface errors to the user. Can you check one more serial number for me?

Do you have the terminal reader ID (tmr_xxx) of that one? I'm not seeing anything for it from a quick search

I don't...this was our very first reader I believe. I've had it as a dev testing device since I built our integration out.

#

but I'm seeing the same thing...

When I check for an update, but the update is coming back as nil, because I've already updated this reader.

I'm assuming if the update is nil, there is no update available

Yeah I don't see any logs for it from the past 30 days
