Hi there ๐ are you referring to our installment capability for Mexico? Or our integrations with other installment-based payment methods?
Just your normal vanilla USA installment plan
"Bill the customer X times and then stop"
So the cancellation date is "baked in" upon first payment.
I'm digital nomading in Guatemala but from California. ๐
is that why you mentioned Mexico??
Nope, I mentioned it because our installment option (at least the one I'm aware of) is only available in Mexico:
https://stripe.com/docs/payments/installments
Yeah, i didn't think you guys had this either but I'm doing R&D and saw...
like, you can make a subscription schedule which bills some amount per month, then cancels after some number of months
I can't find it but I saw a YouTube video where someone sent out an invoice for an installment plan and there was a Stripe UI that asked "Start" and "End" and she chose "End after...." and you could choose a (A) date or (number of times)
yes right an "INSTALLMENT PLAN"
so i am totally confsued here
starting over
(A) Does Stripe have an installment plan feature in the United States?
capital-I Installments are a special thing with network support in mexico - iirc, the customer's bank floats you the money, so you're paid upfront, and the customer pays back their bank over some period negotiated between them and their bank
No
you can build something similar on top of subscription schedules
What normal humans and PayPal for like 20 years refers to as an installment plan
We did! Like5 years ago!!!!!!!
But my question is does STRIPE have this feature??? I thought no but then just saw a video this morning where someone set it up so i am royally confused.
subscription schedules is https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/subscription-schedules
And now i'm on discord getting even more confused by the strange responses
right but going back to my original question
Can Sarah the non-technical life coach add a payment link or does it need to be coded by her dev?
no; it's only supported by subscription schedules
Great! That is good for us. Not sure how i watched a video where someone did it in the dashboard though?????
iirc, payment links currently support subscriptions, but not subscription schedules
