oh on the stripe hosted page after i redirect the user to connect the account? would i be able to still test creating products and prices on that account after skipping?

yeah I think what I said earlier, is not supported on Connect Onboarding with Standard accounts, my bad on that info. Tested it and confirmed with a colleague, you'll have to add account details to onboard an account
