hello, I have no idea what that entails, what does it mean to connect an AMEX account to Stripe?

We have registered AMEX account, and when a new merchant account is generated, we provide our account number for accepting AMEX charges.

This was how it was done with other merchant account.

I think so because I didn't enter that info. Just created the account.

I did test it with AMEX test card and it was successfully completed.

what is the end goal here? try a test payment on an AMEX card?

We want to accept AMEX card payments from our clients so just want to make sure our AMEX registered account was connected with our Stripe.

you don't have to register your AMEX account with Stripe though, to do that
