@floral current to do instant payouts the connected account must have a balance already, that would come from other transactions right? The expectation is that you take your own fee during those transactions instead

Well it’s more of a do I build all that in upfront and make it somewhat fair for customers because some may not use instant payouts but also it’s easier to reason about to see the fee being taken right when they want to do an instant payout. I’m thinking of how a Lyft or similar would say “here’s an instant payout you can use and here’s the fee to do that” you kinda see what I’m saying?

I do take my fee during transactions but predicting if someone will do instant payout is my concern. Is it worth worrying about or what have other business’ done for that scenario?

I see, yeah we don't support an application fee in that case. I'd assume you charge the fee monthly or something like that (like we do, we charge you monthly as the platform)

Mmmmm monthly is an option I never considered. Even though it’s right there in my face. Do you guys just have a job/webhook that handles that or do you use billing? I’m interested to know how technically you solved this one.

We don't use Billing because it wouldn't work in our case, we don't really create invoices and such, we take the money out of the platform's balance. But in your case, you would collect card details for the customer and monthly charge them the fees for instant payouts or overall usage of your platform for example

Nope apple/google has that info. And I can’t have a variable subscription price. It’s considered an in app purchase facilitated through apple/google and then pay the devs like a month after it happens ¯_(ツ)_/¯
