I am not sure what scenario is that. Those are 2 separated events on separated scenarios

  1. The customer creates a subscription
  2. The customer pays for the first time in a checkout session
  3. The customer submits the checkout session
  4. The payment fails
    After step 4, invoice.payment_failed will be fired, but between steps 3 and 4, can invoice.paid be fired ?
