2/ If you attach the payment method to the customer you can use the dashboard, sure

Note that having the card set up does not guarantee being able to charge, so some of those may be declined or require auth etc and in the scenario you are unlikely to get the "customer" on session to authenticate the payment.

If the event is within 7 days, separate auth & capture would allow placing a hold for the amount, but i'm inferring from your first question the time span might be much longer than that

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, we did initially consider auth & capture but the 7 day limit is too short.
I'll pass on the info about payments being declined or requiring auth and see what the business decision is. Cheers again 🙂
