@solid sigil well the customer is subscribing to something in that case, so the button seems accurate. You can't customise it, as you say, you get an error when trying.
But the subscription isn't the only thing they are paying for, they could also be paying for 20+ non-subscription products
The main action of the use was to pay for their products the subscription would be like an upsell of a yearly payment for free delivery
Is the only way to process subscriptions on Stripe using the Subscription checkout or can it be done via other ways?
sure, you can build your own payment page instead! https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/elements , though its more work than using Checkout.
that's fair, but this is just how we built the page, if you are subscribing to something we try to make that clear by default(since disputes/chargebacks for "you charged me on a recurring basis and I didn't expect it" are a common category)
