Just to clarify, you're asking if there are types of cards that we don't allow to make payments?

I'm asking whether Stripe is indifferent to the funding type of the card, when it comes to supporting payments in it.

#

I ask this because in my experience as a consumer, it seems that credit cards are generally more accepted than debit or prepaid cards. So it seems strange to me that Stripe doesn't differentiate between these types on that page.

Haha, completely understand! I know I've run into problems when trying to use prepaid cards in the past 😄

That's great to know!

Should I assume, though, that the issuing bank (and today there are many smaller issuing banks) may impose particular rules on debit or prepaid cards they issue that could block certain payments, for ex payments made to foreign entities, and such restrictions be outside of the scope of Stripe to do anything about it?

That is always a possibility as the issuers ultimately decide whether or not to permit a charge, and as you mentioned that is outside of our scope.

Makes sense. I just googled on this and saw that "EBANX" seems to specialize in covering local card schemes for Latin American countries like Brazil and Mexico.

I have also seen that my Spotify transaction in my card bill appears as "EBANX".

Anyway, may be outside of Stripe's niche, but I thought it might be interesting to know (if you didn't already).

Thanks a lot for your support!
