@rich crag it's a Live mode real PaymentMEthod, I won't be able to tell you that information here sorry, but yes it's on one of your connected accounts
I can't, this is a public server, there's no real trust involve, this is sensitive information
It’s not supposed to be sent as a connected pm so something is wrong
you will have to work with our support team directly for this
but it is the id of a PaymentMethod on a connected account
Okay then
Yea I figured as much
It’s likely the client has somehow ended up in connect mode when creating the payment method. Shouldn’t really be possible but there must be a bug somewhere
On my end
(Hopefully)
yep I can hint that this PM was created from a Mobile application (iOS) with the Stripe-Account header client-side
Yeah I know. I think our iOS application somehow does not reset its Stripe account property on failed attempts, because I just tried myself in live mode and that worked fine. And cost me like 20 bucks 😂
Just a quick verification that it’s not something that happens all the time
Also only happened once so far. The edge case 🥲🥲
yeah looking at your logs for 24 hours, every PM was created on the platform except that specific edge-case.
good luck 🙂 (confirmed happened still once in 7 days)
Still one too many 😂
Hopefully the user just retried
Can you tell me if it’s a regular card or Apple Pay?
apple pay
we're getting in a dangerous territory of "you're pulling information out of me I shouldn't really share"
we've talked a lot and know your integration but it's more an exception to unblock you unfortunately
I'm making it clear that for questions like this, you will have to talk to our support team moving forward, not publicly on Discord mostly.
Yeah I understand, but I don’t understand what you mean by “unblock me”?
I just meant that you wanted to make quick progress to find the bug and I made an exception giving you enough information to help you narrow it down quicker than waiting on support
Aha. Unblock as in “not block your progress”… I thought you had blocked me for sharing a live PM and made an exception to unblock (or something)
But yeah this is enough as it doesn’t really matter which account it is anyway. Flow is the same. It’s probably the callback for Apple Pay errors not resetting the Stripe account property (because I know I do that for regular cards).
yeah sorry that wasn't clear
unblock is a common word we use at Stripe to say "I'm helping you make quick progress and unblocking you"
Haha fair enough. I don’t think the world has caught on to that yet
yeah sometimes I forget what is a Stripe-specific vocabulary and then use it with friends and family and they got "wait what?"
Haha. Back to my gym session I must. Cheers.
