@pastel knoll yep, that's a Destination charge and the platform pays the fees there.

You'd use Direct Charges if you wanted the fees to be paid by the connected account.

and yes if you do a Destination charge and transfer the whole amount without keeping an application_fee for yourself(https://stripe.com/docs/connect/destination-charges#application-fee), then you will go negative for the amount of the Stripe processing fee, as you describe (but some businesses operate that way and add money to their Stripe balance in other ways)
