Thanks @sinful escarp I think it is intended behaviour for setup mode, I don't have any issue with it if I remove the payment_intent_data. I think I may have confused karllekko when I asked in my previous thread.

yep you're in setup mode so you can't pass payment_intent_data

you don't have to pass anything in that case, as setup mode by default implies off_session

As long as am able to charge customers via the dashboard after without it I am happy! So that's great, I'll just remove the payment_intent_data associative array
