the customer balance is pulled at the time of finalization only.

On Thursday Stripe retries the invoice, will it bring that $80 in to the invoice Thursday and attempt to capture $20 on the card?
so no it won't. It'll charge $100 and ignore the balance

you could use a CreditNote for this instead
