yes, you can do this but you'd need to use the terminal to collect the payment method without a payment, then start the subscription:

terminal collect payment method takes a client secret as parameter. should I not be pass it?
ohhh I see. I was using wrong function.
readReusableCard is what I needed.

I knew it was possible just been banging my head for past 2 days
The docs do not contain any information on this in the subscription page
it has Subscription with Checkout and Subscription with Elements. but does not have Subscriptions with Terminal

this is the only line that gave me hope under use cases for Subscriptions "Collect payments in-person and use those card details for recurring online payments with Billing."
but no docs on how to actually do this
