The Customer Portal only supports Subscriptions and Invoices right now. It will support more in the future, but there's no ETA for Checkout support and things like that at this time.

Yeah, as far as I know. The Customer Portal is somewhat new, and I know the team working on it has plans for more features (but I can't talk about specifics).
A nice feature would be to have the "ability" to switch to a plan from "no plan" in the billing portal
