if you set up the subscription to charge automatically, no invoice emails are sent. if you've configure them, payment receipt emails can be sent.

If you wanted, you can inspect the invoices generated each cycle and optionally send the customer a pdf of that invoice (with your own code): https://stripe.com/docs/api/invoices/object#invoice_object-invoice_pdf
